How to: Re-open a survey and submit a response

Introduction

Occasionally respondents may get in touch asking to submit a response to a survey or consultation that has already closed. In these situations it is common for the respondent to have a full list of answers against the question set, often because the survey is listed publicly (such as for a public consultation). Where it is desirable to add this response to the data set, the survey can be re-opened to add it.

Steps to re-open a survey and submit a response

  1. Select [Re-open] on the desired survey tile on the Surveys page.
  2. Select [Share] to find the survey url.
  3. Paste the url into a new tab of your browser and add the following to the end of the url "/new". An example url structure would be: https://yourdomain/surveyid/new
Hit enter on your keyboard. The survey will load up, ready for you to submit the response as a respondent would.
  4. Step through the survey, adding question answers as you go.
  5. Once finished, click the [Submit] button at the end of the survey.
  6. Navigate to the Responses page for your survey to confirm the response has come through as expected (you may need to refresh the page). The most recent response will be listed at the top of the responses grid by default, checking the date fields will confirm the response has come through.
