How to: Privacy Page

Introduction

It is important for all surveys to have a privacy policy since data is being collected on individuals. SurveyOptic has a dedicated page per survey to include this policy.

Setting up a privacy page

You can create an HTML page using the Privacy Page editor. This can include standard formatting and images.

1. From the Edit Survey page, navigate to the Messages tab to find the Privacy Page editor.
2. Input your privacy policy into the editor.
3. Once your policy looks as desired in the editor, click save.
4. If set up in your survey theme or custom survey footer, the Privacy Page will now be accessible through a link in the footer of your survey.
5. Insert the privacy page url into other messages, emails or within the survey using the substitution. For more information on using substitutions, please see our "Explained – Mustaches" document.

Default privacy policy

The system default Privacy policy can be found on your system at /page/privacy. If a default policy has been set, it will be displayed for any survey that has no custom policy configured.
