How to: Delete surveys under a template

Introduction

When a large volume of surveys are created under a template, it can be necessary to delete all the surveys under that template after the passing of data retention periods or for commercial reasons. SurveyOptic can securely erase the data of all surveys under a template. Through this feature users can manage their data retention and ensure compliance with privacy policies and data protection.

Steps to erasing survey data under a template

Provided you have correct permissions, the surveys and their response data under a template can be deleted using the following steps:

  1. Navigate to the Templates page and locate the desired template.
  2. Expand the tile and select [Delete All Surveys]. A list of the surveys to be deleted will load.
  3. Confirm the list contains the expected surveys, then select [Delete X surveys]. The system will progressively mark surveys as '(deleted)'. A confirmation message will display once all surveys have been deleted. If you change your mind, select [Undo].
  4. Deleted surveys are hidden from view, the surveys and the response data associated with the surveys will be erased from the system once the system default deletion period has passed.
  5. Once erased, the data will begin to cycle out of SocialOptic's back-ups automatically and will be removed from back-up storage within 6-8 weeks.
